The Board of Education held their monthly meeting tonight, Congratulations to our Portrait of a Tiger "Empathetic" recipients for the month of January.
Empathetic Tigers show caring, kindness and compassion while taking time to understand and respect the perspectives of others. By being supportive and seeking first to understand, our students help create a welcoming, respectful and positive school community.

We’re excited to share that Galion City Schools will be launching a monthly segment in partnership with the Crawford County Prevention Coalition, focused on age-appropriate topics that support the overall well-being of our students. While some of these questions may be considered "too young" or silly for some it's a way to open a dialog to fit a need.
We’re starting the year by encouraging families to simply build strong, open communication with their children. These conversations don’t have to be formal—often the best talks happen around the dinner table or at bedtime, when the house is quiet and kids feel most comfortable opening up. But we must start to build relationships that are based on communication.
January, the focus is on connection and trust—creating space for your child to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. In the coming months, we’ll begin sharing guidance and resources on how to talk with your child about more specific topics, including substance use prevention and awareness, in a thoughtful and age-appropriate way.
Thank you for CCPC for partnering with us as we work together to support healthy choices and strong family communication. 💙

Please welcome Kristi Lawson to Galion City Schools! Kristi will be joining our team as our new Family Advocate. She is a Galion alumni herself alongside her husband, Mark, of 27 years, and together they raised their three adult children here in Galion.
She will be a vital bridge between Tiger families and the district. She will focus on rebuilding trust, strengthening relationships, and offering steady support to parents. Our goal is to ensure that families and the district can work together effectively in support of our students.

College Credit Plus (CCP) is a program that gives students the opportunity to take college classes and earn college credit while in high school. This meeting will give an overview of the requirements for the CCP program as well as information about the process to apply.
Tuition, fees, and textbooks are provided free of cost to students who qualify for this program.
Information about the Galion Early College Academy (GECA) will also be presented.

Bus 14 will have a substitute driver for a period of time. While we are unsure of the duration, please be aware that pick-up and drop-off times may be a few minutes earlier or later than usual. Please stay tuned for updates. The bus garage will contact families directly if there is a significant change to your scheduled times.
