At Wednesday evening’s BOE meeting, we had the opportunity to celebrate several students for showing courage, determination, and a willingness to try new things throughout the school year.

This is a Reminder, Wednesday May 13th will be our last scheduled 2 hour delay for all students. Staff will attend their regularly scheduled time. This 2 hour delay is NOT weather related and has been scheduled. Pioneer students who ride the bus to campus, you will need to find your own ride to campus and catch the shuttle to Pioneer (Unless you have been notified)

Meet Lily Yontz, an 8th grader at Galion Middle School who is truly a talented Tiger! At just 13 years old, Lily has already shown incredible artistic ability and creativity that continues to impress everyone around her. Her artwork reflects not only talent, but also dedication, imagination, and passion far beyond her years. 🎨🐯
Outside of the art room, Lily stays active as a student athlete, participating in both basketball and soccer. Whether she’s creating amazing artwork, competing on the court, or giving her all on the soccer field, Lily represents what it means to be well rounded, hardworking, and involved at GMS.

The 2026 Franklin B. Walter Outstanding Educator Award and R.A. Horn Outstanding Student Achievement Award nominees. These honors celebrate educators who go above and beyond for students with disabilities, and students who have achieved excellence in academics, the arts, extracurriculars, and more.

A special congratulations to Franklin B. Walter Award recipient Mrs. Cindy Glew of Galion Middle School! 🎉 An exceptional Intervention Specialist, Mrs. Glew supports all learners through co-teaching, small group instruction, and inclusive strategies that drive real results—helping increase 8th grade reading proficiency and strengthen student success. Beyond the classroom, she leads, mentors, and supports school-wide initiatives, making a lasting impact on students and staff alike.

A huge thank you to the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics for providing free helmets for our students through the Put a Lid on It campaign.
If your child did not receive a bicycle helmet today, they will be available at the Community Connections Expo on Saturday, May 16 at Galion Middle School.
We’d also like to give a special shoutout to Melanie from First Lutheran Church Outreach for delivering the helmets to our schools and helping ensure proper fittings for our students! 👏
