There will be no school on Monday, Feb 16th, 2026, in observance of Presidents Day. All GCS offices will be closed.
School will resume on Tuesday Feb 17th.

Today we want to give a HUGE shoutout to Mrs. Smith and Ms. Hickman! 💛
This incredible duo is always working together to make our school better for students. They were the driving force behind our annual “No One Eats Alone” today at the Middle School , it takes a lot of planning, organizing, and heart to make it happen. We also want to thank the rest of the staff who had a hand in helping. You are ALL appreciated!!
Because of their leadership, our students were reminded that kindness matters, everyone belongs, and no one has to feel alone.
We are so grateful for the teamwork at GMS, dedication, and love they all pour into our school every single day. We love celebrating them! 💛🐅

This is a tremendous accomplishment, and we are so proud of your hard work and dedication.

🐾❄️ Galion City Schools Weather Safety Update ❄️🐾
We know delays and closures can be frustrating—thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate extreme winter conditions. While winter weather is expected this time of year, student safety always comes first.
Due to dangerously low temps, negative windchills along with road conditions that are continuing to improve, many of our sidewalks are not yet cleared. Lack of clear sidewalks forces students to walk on the road creating an extreme safety hazard for students and drivers."
📣 With that said, Galion City Schools will remain CLOSED tomorrow, Friday, January 30.
💙 Call to Action:
At some point tomorrow or this weekend, we encourage our pre-teens and teens—if you’re able—to bundle up and help shovel sidewalks and driveways, check on elderly neighbors, or lend a hand however you can. Every little bit helps and makes a difference in keeping our community safe.
Attach your "Call to Action" Pictures below and/or email learning@galionschools.org for a chance to be spotlighted!!
Thank you for supporting our students and our Galion community. We will see you all Monday !! 🧡💙🐅
